Memory Retention functions as an automatic, passive immunity to the cognitive wipes caused by Shadow-induced time resets. When a timeline is erased and rewritten, all other inhabitants lose their memories of the previous iteration, effectively living in a new reality where the erasure never happened. The primary limitation is psychological isolation; the holder cannot easily prove their experiences to others without appearing delusional or unstable. There is no physical cost to maintaining these memories, but the mental strain of witnessing repeated deaths and failures can lead to severe trauma or hesitation during combat. In battle, this ability is used tactically rather than offensively.
