This ability is not controlled by will but is an involuntary consequence of the loop cycle. It places a heavy psychological burden on the user, as they must act against events they have already witnessed to change the outcome. Unlike true psychic precognition, this knowledge is limited strictly to what has happened in previous failed loops. If an event changes significantly due to new variables, the 'precognitive' memory may no longer apply accurately. Notably, Shinpei is the only human who retains memories across loops due to his unique connection to the time loop, not simply because he died.

The salt air tasted the same as it did three days ago, or perhaps thirty times before. Shintaro gripped his knife, eyes fixed on the alleyway where the shadow would emerge. He didn't hear footsteps; he remembered them. The pain of the wound that should appear on his shoulder was already a phantom ache in his mind. He shifted his stance, knowing exactly when the mimic would strike, turning a fatal moment into a calculated counter.

This phenomenon functions through memory retention across timeline resets rather than supernatural sight. When a user dies or triggers a loop reset, their consciousness carries forward memories of that specific future. This allows them to dodge attacks, intercept Shadows before they act, or avoid traps set by enemies who rely on surprise. However, significant limitations exist. The knowledge is not absolute; if the user changes an action too drastically in the current loop, the future diverges, rendering previous 'precognitive' memories obsolete. Additionally, physical stamina and mental clarity degrade with each death experienced within the loops. Shadows do not possess this ability, as they are mimics bound to the current timeline's flow. Combat utility relies on preparation. Users must memorize enemy patterns from past deaths to exploit weaknesses in real-time during the new loop. While effective against predictable targets, it offers no defense against entirely new threats or variables introduced by other Renderings.

Did You Know?

• Shinpei Ajiro is the only human who retains memories across loops; no other individual shares this ability.
• Shadows share collective memory across loops but do not possess precognition; their actions are not canonically called precognition.
